Exhibition done and dusted

Our Evoke Art Collective Exhibition was well attended over the weekend and every artist had some sales. This was our second one and we had some very positive comments about it. October Evoke Art Collective Exhibition.

So now it is well into October and I am flat out painting for Evoke Art Group's exhibition in Cambridge. There are 7 of us in the group and we have quite a variety of different subjects and styles. Due to Covid restrictions we haven't had an exhibition for 2 years now, but our last one was very successful....

Commissions and exhibition

It is well past time that I updated my blog!  This year I have been working on completing some commissions, and have only one left to do. It is always a challenge to interpret exactly what the client wants their painting to look like, and although I don't actually bite my nails, I am always a little anxious that they will like my interpretation of their instructions. June 2021

It has been a busy time for me lately, getting art ready to send off to 2 exhibitions this weekend. Artex - National Art Exhibitions starts Friday night 18 June with an opening night "Soiree" at the National War memorial and Conference Centre in Napier. It is open on 19 and 20 June as well. November 2020

Myself and 5 other  artists held a very successful annual exhibition in the St Andrews Parish Hall, Cambridge. The opening night on 30th October was well attended and I sold 3 paintings that night and another 3 over the next few days. I have just sent 4 paintings off to The Dunedin Art Show....

2019

Last year was mainly spent with getting our garden landscaped and all the things that go with moving to a new house. So, painting  was on the back burner for a while although I did complete some commissions and exhibited at The Dunedin Art Show and Art-X in Napier selling some paintings. I was also invited to submit a painting for a calendar, which will be for 2021 ...

NZ Art Show

The NZ Art Show was on this weekend at the TSB Arena in Wellington with over 300 artists exhibiting and I am happy to say that I sold 2 paintings. It was a very big show with a huge variety of art for sale and large numbers of art lovers visiting....

Commissioned painting

As the snow melts on Mt Ruapehu, it flows into Lake Taupo, then into the Waikato River before making it's way to the sea, where the water cycle continues. The 3 parts of this commissioned painting are - Mt Ruapehu, The Fairfield Bridge in Hamilton, and the beach at Raglan on the West Coast of the North Island, New Zealand...

Art Expo Nelson

11 paintings all packaged up to go to Art Expo Nelson which will be held at Saxon Stadium in Nelson over Labour weekend....

Successful Exhibitions

Well, the NZ Art Show in Wellington is done and dusted as is Artex National Art exhibition in Napier and Christchurch Art Show. I have sold 4 of my paintings. Nelson Art Show is next at Labour Weekend so I will be busy for a few months!...

NZ Art Show

Congratulations to the NZ Art Show for another successful exhibition. I sold my painting "Evan's Bay Boatsheds". Christchurch Art Show is next week and Art- X National Art Exhibition is open in Napier at the moment. I have been invited to apply for the Nelson Art Show, so the paintbrushes will need to fly!...

Holidays are over

Well the holidays are over and it is time to get the paintbrushes out again. I have just sold "Shadows - Mt Ruapehu", which is on it's way to Western Australia. This has prompted me to update my website after a rather relaxed time. (artwise anyway) I will need to get moving to have enough paintings for exhibitions in Wellington and Napier this year....
